You may pick a topic in one of the areas given below some other topic of your choice that is relevant to the course. Use IEEEXplore to get a list of papers on the topic. Your strategy should be to first look for a good journal article on the topic. The journal article may not contain the most recent developments in the area, but should give you a good idea of the issues involved. Supplement this journal article with other journal articles and more recent conference proceedings papers and look for any loose ends in them. You may want to try and follow up these loose ends with ideas of your. However, the emphasis of the project is on understanding the topic of your project thoroughly and not on original research. You will be required to make a 1/2 hour presentation in class on your project. Good luck!
A one-page project proposal is due in class on October 8, 2007. This should include a brief description of your project and a list of relevant references.
